Who is satan and the devil?

As a Christian, I believe not many people are aware of who satan or devil is. We know a lot about Jesus and God and what they can offer for us but we tend to ignore telling others who satan and what are his goals and objectives.

As a Christian, it is important for you to identify and know your enemy so that you are equipped to overcome satan lies and tactics through Jesus Christ.

And remember Jesus Christ has won the victory and not to believe in the lies of satan as we know this promise below:

“When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.” – Colossians 2:13-15

As a Christian, you must remember Jesus has disarmed the powers and authorities of the enemies of God by triumphing over them by the cross.

Who is satan or devil?

The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or satan, who leads the whole world astray. he was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.” – Rev 12:9

Incase, you are not aware the dragon is one of the symbols of satan or devil as mentioned above. satan was actually an angel for the Lord but fought against God and failed.

After he was fallen, he was allowed to be on this earth to lead the whole earth that we live today astray.

he is also known to be the deceiver of the whole world , the accuser, the ruler of this world (John 12:31) and “the god of this age” (2 Cor 4:4).

What’s satan or devil goal?

satan is always prowling around the earth, seeking someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8). That’s how sometimes we heard of things like evil spirits or people getting possess.

satan and devil is subject to God

God is sovereign and satan has to obey God, he does not have the free hand to do what he wants (Job 2:6).

Many are not aware the devil is on a leash, so that he is not allowed to do more than what God allows or permits (Job 1). In fact, he must get permission from God.

satan’s Attacks and Strategies

  1. satan lies, and is the father of lies

satan is a liar and the father of lies (John 8:44). he lies all the time and you might have thought of him or heard of him in your mind before as well lying to you without you noticing anything.

satan has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him (John 8:44).

  1. he blinds the unbelievers

Have you experienced sharing Jesus with an unbeliever but no matter what you try to say or explain they just would not believe? The reason for this is at the verse below:

“The god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:4).

So satan hides what is true and keeps them from seeing the gospel and goodness of God.

  1. he Disguises Himself as An Angel

Do you know that satan can be in the church disguise as a good person or even a pastor! For he has the ability to disguise himself as an angel of light deceiving many people ( 2 Cor 11:13-15).

  1. satan Does Fake Signs and Wonders

Jesus heals praise God and that’s the real thing. However satan only can fake miracles, making them look real to almost everyone.

“For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.” – Mathew 24:24

So how you be sure if the signs are real? Make sure they all point back to Jesus and helping them grow their relationship with God.

Because if it was from satan, they will usually go further away from God and that is what we all the deceiving miracle and fake lies of satan.

  1. satan Tempts people to sin

he wants everyone to abandon the path of suffering and obedience to God (Mathew 4:1-11).

  1. satan Can Cause People To Get Sick & Disease

“Ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom satan bound for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?” (Luke 13:16).

This woman had bondage to sickness for 18 years but Jesus healed her.

Peter also described Jesus as the who went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil ( Acts 10:38 ).

However, do not be mistakes not every sickness is the work of the devil. Sometimes it can a “thorn in the flesh” which is God’s way of growing our character in Him.

Fear Not satan or devil Because of Jesus

James says, “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you!” (James 4:7).

Jesus also instructed us to make prayer a daily weapon for protection against the evil (Mathew 6:13).

Regardless what happens, as long you are Christian today know that you should not fear satan or devil but know that they are very afraid of Jesus and are subject to Him and that’s the truth you need to remember.
