Jesus Commands For Holy Christian Living

The intent for this list and commands is to equip and help all Christians around the world with the right foundational principles to model our life like Jesus to follow him and to fore-fill  the great commission Matthew 28:18-20 and to follow Jesus.

Related to Evangelism 

  • Repent for the kingdom of heaven is near —Matthew 4:17
  • The harvest is plentiful, but workers are few. Be encourage to be the workers into His harvest – Matthew 9:37-38

Commands For Jesus Disciples ( Christians )

  • Jesus’s 1st command – Follow me to make disciples —Matthew 4:19
  • Blessed Beatitudes – Matthew 5:3-12
  • Rejoice and be glad, great is our reward in heaven in times of persecution – Matthew 5:12
  • Let Your Light Shine before the world by your good deeds to glorify your Father in heaven—Matthew 5:16
  • Keep God’s laws given to Moses & the Prophets—Matthew 5:17–20

Commands For Jesus Disciple ( Christian ) Living 

  • Do not be angry or insult your brother/sister or you shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell – Matthew 5:21-23
  • Reconcile with the one you offended before coming to God – Matthew 5:23–25
  • Do not look at woman with lust as it will commit adultery in his heart – Matthew 5:27-28
  • Repent from from your sins by cutting off temptations or you will go into hell Matthew 5:29-30
  • Do not divorce your wife, except for the reason of unchastity and not marry a divorced woman – Matthew 5:31–32
  • Keep your promises & vows – Matthew 5:33-37
  • Do not resist an evil person and take revenge – Matthew 5:38-39
  • Sacrifice by showing love and giving beyond what evil people demand —Matthew 5:38–42
  • Love your enemies – Matthew 5:44
  • Pray those that persecute you – Matthew 5:44
  • Be perfect just as your heavenly Father is —Matthew 5:48
  • Give in secret otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven – Matthew 6:1–4
  • Pray in secret not to be seen by others but only to your Father who see what is done in secret will reward you – Matthew 6:5-6
  • Prayer example from Jesus – Matthew 6:9-13
  • Do not pray meaningless repetitious prayers – Matthew 6:7-8
  • Do not store up treasures on earth – Matthew 6:19–20
  • Seek the God’s Kingdom first and God will provide – Matthew 6:33
  • Be persistent in seeking and prayer to ask , seek and knock – Matthew 7:7–8
  • Choose the narrow way that is hard that leads to life – Matthew 7:13–14
  • Build on strong foundations and act on Jesus’s commands – Matthew 7:24-27

Related to things that you have to be careful and be on guard

  • Forgive others or else your Father will not forgive your transgressions – Matthew 6:14-15
  • Do unto others as you would do unto you – Matthew 7:12
  • Be on guard against false prophets – Matthew 7:15
  • Do not judge if you cannot meet them yourself – Matthew 7:1-3
