Spiritual Gifts of God

If you love Jesus, you would desire to know what are your spiritual gifts from God. Because once you know your gift, you can use it activity daily to do the work of God.

So what spirituals gifts are there? Let’s read.

We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.” – Romans 12:6-8

Firstly, before you get all excited about which gift you desire to receive know this these gift is given by God according to the God’s choice not yours. Your role as a servant of God is to find out which gift was given to you by God.

So mention above the bible verse are seven gifts which are prophesying, serving, teaching, encourager, giver, leader and mercy. The issue that I find many Christians have problems with these gifts is we tend to focus only prophesy, teaching, and leadership as gifts and totally ignore the other gifts as not of importance to God.

Another issue is, that you do not need the gift of the giver to give nor do you need be to a leader in order to lead someone in church or cell group. Do not limit what God can do in your life, when people call you to do something be ready and take up the challenge to try to do them. In doing so, you will discover what are the main gifts that God has given to you.

For your information, I strongly believe gifts can change in seasons too.  Does not mean, that once you are gifted with teaching you are a teacher forever in ministry. You might just be a teacher not in this season, but I believe God can change gifting from teacher to even as simple as encouraging others.

Be Eagerly Desire The Greater Gifts

“Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles?Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues[d]? Do all interpret? 31 Now eagerly desire the greater gifts.” – 1 Corinthians 12: 27-31

The point these verses is trying to say here is everyone who is a Christian has a part to play in the body of Christ as a whole. The issue is most Christians today DO NOT BOTHER to do anything or desire even for these gifts.

No matter if you have any of the gifts of is not the matter. The main issue is Christians are not bothered to serve God. You are called by God to serve and it’s your duty as a believer to find out what’s that gift today.
